Power study\nof North American airports. The North Carolina airport ranked fifth, in passenger\nsatisfaction in its new category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled that passengers consider RDU one of the\ntop five best large airports in North America,\u201d said Michael Landguth,\npresident and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. \u201cWe strive to\nprovide a world-class airport experience and we are continuing to upgrade our\nfacilities and amenities to make traveling through RDU even easier and more\nwelcoming.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RDU\u2019s 2019 J.D. Power ranking reflects a strong\nimprovement over last year, when the airport ranked 11th among medium-sized\nairports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual J.D. Power North American Airport Satisfaction\nStudy ranks airport customer satisfaction in the following categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Airport Accessibility (getting to and leaving the airport)<\/li><li>Check-In\/Baggage Check<\/li><li>Security Check<\/li><li>Food, Beverage and Retail<\/li><li>Terminal Facilities (concourses, lounges, signage, restrooms, and\u00c2\u00a0gate areas)<\/li><li>Baggage Claim<\/li><li>Immigration\/Customs<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>J.D. Power categorizes North American airports according\nto annual passenger volume:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mega: 32 million or more passengers per year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Large: 10 to 31.5 million passengers per year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medium: 4 to 9.9 million passengers a year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2018, 12.8 million passengers traveled through RDU, an\neight percent increase over the previous year. The airport expects to serve\nmore than 14 million travelers in 2019. According to the FAA, RDU is the 39th\nlargest airport in the U.S. by passenger volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read the J.D.
