The MAC acknowledges their dedication most\nrecently in establishing and hosting the Women&#8217;s Aviation Career Symposium, a\nsuccessful event for women to network and pursue the many exciting careers in\naviation. The MAC thanks Hagg, Poirier, and Tobin for their commitment in\npromoting such opportunities for women throughout Michigan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For his outstanding contribution to Michigan as manager\nof the FAA Detroit ADO, Mayfield was recognized with an individual Award of Excellence.\nHe has provided valuable leadership to ensure the safety, strength, and\nstability of Michigan\u2019s airport system. His professionalism in the\nadministration of the FAA Airport Improvement Program over the past 10 years,\nincluding the vital State Block Grant Program, has contributed to more than a\nbillion dollars invested in airport development across the state and has had a\nsignificant economic impact on local communities. Mayfield has been a strong\npartner within the aviation community and his firm and fair approach has\npositively benefitted the aviation industry in Michigan as a whole. The MAC and\nMichigan Department of Transportation Office of Aeronautics thank Mayfield for\nhis unwavering support and commitment to Michigan&#8217;s aviation system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every year since 1990, the MAC has recognized individuals\nand organizations whose innovative contributions have led to significant\nimprovements to facilities, operations or public relations that support\naviation in Michigan.
