Other\nfactors contributing to his decision to form his own company were the result of\n9\/11 and the onset of the recession. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Steven-Baldwin-2edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13512\" width=\"421\" height=\"279\"\/><figcaption><em>Steven Baldwin<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGoing out on your own is not for\nthe faint at heart,\u201d said Baldwin, who established Steven Baldwin Associates,\nLLC in 2011. \u201cI\u2019m happy with how the firm has developed and I\u2019ve never looked\nback.\u201d His biggest surprise, however, was the encouragement he received from\nfriends and colleagues in the industry. \u201cI remember a dear friend, who works\nfor FedEx, reminding me that Rome wasn\u2019t built in a day,\u201d said Baldwin. \u201cThat\nalone encouraged me to forge ahead, and I\u2019m grateful for him reminding me of\nthat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The firm, Steven Baldwin Associates, offers management consulting for airports and airport operators and focuses on strategic planning, organizational and program assessments, revenue optimization, governance review and transfer, performance benchmarking, and executive recruiting. Steve has assembled a team of top professionals with expertise in a variety of areas that complements his own experience and expertise gained over 35 years in the industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baldwin first became interested\nin aviation as a result of his father. \u201cMy father served in the Army Air Corps\nin Europe,\u201d said Baldwin. \u201cHis command was responsible for operating a small\nairstrip between Berchtesgaden, Germany and Salzburg, Austria during WWII.\u201d Baldwin\nsaid his father had a storied life, but in particular loved aviation and eventually\nbecame a pilot and later in life an aircraft owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;Bottom line&#8230; people will always want to fly&#8230;&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baldwin, an active commercial\ninstrument rated multi-engine pilot himself, said 2019 is continuing to shape\nup as a banner year for the firm. \u201cAs a community and an industry, we are doing\na lot of great things in aviation.\u201d &nbsp;Baldwin noted that airlines and airports alike\nare investing in the aviation system. \u201cThe bottom line is people will always\nwant to fly and now is a great time to be involved.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of specifics, Baldwin\nsaid the firm continues to lead in offering new products that their clients are\ninterested in, and most recently are proud of their growing market in assessing\ngovernance models, analyzing organizational efficiency and effectiveness, strategizing\nrevenue optimization, and conducting executive recruitment. \u201cOur goals are\nsimple: continue to be best, provide the highest level of customer service\npossible, invest in our staff, and have fun!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Steven-Baldwinedit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13514\" width=\"318\" height=\"247\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Steven-Baldwinedit.jpg 600w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Steven-Baldwinedit-300x233.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 318px) 100vw, 318px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Baldwin has spent more than 30\nyears in the aviation industry, previously serving as a Senior Vice President\nof an international consulting firm, responsible for building and growing its domestic\naviation practice. In building his own company, Baldwin has gathered top\naviation professionals and experts who have dedicated their entire careers to\naviation and the management of airports, to serve SBA clients with expertise in\na range of areas including: business management, legal and legislative\nanalysis, concessions, FBOs, governance transfers, technology, and human\nresources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;Surrounding yourself with talented, dedicated people is typically the surest way to success&#8230;&#8221; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baldwin highlighted the\ncontributions and value of his team, stating, \u201cThe team we\u2019ve built, their\nindividual and collective expertise in the industry, and the caliber of their\ncontributions are really what make the firm a success. Surrounding yourself\nwith talented, dedicated people is typically the surest way to success, and I\u2019m\nhappy that that is the case here as well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baldwin is also familiar with\nstate aviation having served at the New York State DOT Aviation Division for 14\nyears. There, he had responsibility for the day-to-day operations of Stewart\nInternational Airport in Newburgh, NY and Republic Airport on Long Island. Both\nairports had governor-appointed policy advisory commissions with which Baldwin\nworked closely. Baldwin also directed New York\u2019s planning and environmental programs\nfor the State-owned and-operated airports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, he provided staff services\nto two governor-appointed commissions. He served as the Governor\u2019s congressional\nliaison on matters concerning flight noise, and later served two years in the NYS\nGovernor\u2019s office as Assistant Deputy Director and senior advisor assigned to the\nOffice of Regulatory Reform, where he led five separate and diverse policy teams.\nThrough his experience in government and hands-on\nexecutive management, Baldwin has developed a keen understanding of public policy\nanalysis and decision-making which provide a well-rounded perspective on the\nindustry for client assignments.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baldwin believes SBA is a unique airport management consulting firm, made up of top industry professionals. \u201cSBA\u2019s principals&nbsp;and senior-level&nbsp;professionals are recognized throughout the industry as some of the foremost leaders in the airport management field,\u201d said Baldwin. \u201cWe strive to use that high level of expertise to provide our clients with the finest service and industry knowledge available.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baldwin also spoke highly about the\nfirm\u2019s clients. \u201cWe\u2019ve been very lucky to work with some of the best people in\nthe business as clients.
