Service on the Airbus 330-200 aircraft will begin April\n29, 2020, five days per week until November (Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, Sun). Flights\nwill leave Frankfurt at 2:05 PM, arriving in Phoenix at 5:05 PM then depart\nPhoenix at 6:55 PM, arriving in Frankfurt the next day at 3:05 PM. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft will have a three-class configuration, with 22\nbusiness class seats, 17 premium class seats and an economy class offering 231\nseats. In total, the flights will have a capacity of 270.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to connect the Phoenix metropolitan area\nwith Lufthansa\u2019s Frankfurt hub, where we offer over 200 connecting flights to\ncities across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phoenix is one of the top growth areas in the Southwest,\nwith a robust economy that has links to companies in Europe and beyond. The new\nEurowings flights will definitely usher in a new era for both leisure and\nbusiness travelers alike in Arizona and throughout the Lufthansa network,\u201d said\nFrank Naeve, Vice President of Sales, The Americas, Lufthansa Group.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the Lufthansa Group, Eurowings currently offers\nU.S. service from German cities to Miami, Fort Myers, Newark, New York\u2019s JFK\nand Las Vegas. Along with Phoenix, the airline will also launch\nFrankfurt-Anchorage, Munich-Las Vegas and Munich-Orlando service in the 2020\nsummer schedule. Flights go on sale today. It was so successful that they quickly\nannounced an expansion. Phoenix had service to Dusseldorf and Frankfurt,\nGermany on LTU and Lufthansa Airlines from 2001-2003. Sky Harbor has had daily\nservice to London on British Airways since 1996.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phoenix international flights add over $3 Billion to the\nlocal economy each year per the Airport\u2019s most recent economic impact study.\nJust the daily nonstop to London is responsible for $2.3 million a day being\ninjected into the Greater Phoenix economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Phoenix City Council approved an updated airline\nincentive program, allowing for funds to promote overseas flights. This is\nstandard procedure at most major airports today and can tip the scales when an\nairline is choosing between cities. The funds are 100% from airport revenues-\nnot tax dollars.
