<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nIn 2019, Unmanned Safety Institute celebrates five years\nof implementing and promoting best-in-class aviation-based safety practices\ninto the unmanned industry. The USI Center of Excellence brings exclusive\nleading unmanned safety and education training programs to a region dedicated\nto workforce development, specifically in aviation and unmanned technology skillsets. The commercial training site at the\nGulf\/Franklin Campus will enable organizations to obtain safety-based unmanned\naircraft training with USI\u2019s structured education, training and evaluation\nstandards for competent and professional remote pilots. As automation of unmanned technology\nincreases, the skillsets of remote pilots operating them must transform as\nwell. The Center for Excellence offers\nreal-world experience in safety best practices imbuing confidence and expertise\nin risk averse operations; fully automated or entirely remote pilot controlled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe USI Center of\nExcellence is the next step in the evolution of our company, demonstrating our\ncommitment to promote professional and standards-based training in the unmanned\nindustry, increasing aviation-based skillsets and developing a highly qualified\nand standardized workforce for Gulf County and the rest of the unmanned\nindustry,\u201d said Josh Olds, President of Unmanned Safety Institute. \u201cThis\npartnership gives learners a competitive advantage as they pursue or change\ncareers while bolstering the unmanned workforce with truly professional remote\npilots on all sizes and complexities of aircraft. It also enables USI to expand\nthe scale and reach of our training capabilities, delivering our award-winning\nprograms to remote pilots throughout Florida, the U.S., and the global UAS\ncommunity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
USI recently entered into a collaborative agreement with\nTextron Unmanned Systems to create an employment pipeline for college students,\nsecondary students, exiting military personnel and adult learners interested in\npursuing an unmanned career pathway. Qualified students will have the\nopportunity to participate in unmanned aircraft training in accordance with\nTextron Systems\u2019 training standards, backed by more than one million UAS flight\nhours. Textron Systems and USI will be working together to ensure that the new\nprogram offers resources that support classroom and flight activity directly\nrelated to Textron Systems\u2019 unmanned aircraft systems. The USI Center of Excellence\nwill directly support this effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
USI\u2019s certifications are part of a three-tired safety\nprogram that demonstrate increasing levels of certification tied to training\nand education:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
