The National Aeronautic Association (NAA) has announced\nthe opening of the nomination period for the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wright Brothers Memorial Trophy, Wesley L. McDonald\nDistinguished Statesman of Aviation Awards, the Frank G. Brewer Trophy, and the\nPublic Benefit Flying Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Part of NAA’s mission is identifying and recognizing\nthose who have contributed to the art, sport and science of aviation and space\nflight in the United States. NAA presents more than a dozen awards throughout\neach year to honor achievements in aviation and space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wright Brothers Memorial Trophy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Honoring the memory of Orville and Wilbur Wright, the\ntrophy is awarded annually to a living American for “… significant\npublic service of enduring value to aviation in the United States.” It is\npresented near the anniversary of the historic first flight at the Aero Club of\nWashington’s Annual Wright Brothers Memorial Dinner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Nomination Deadline: August 15 <\/p>\n\n\n\n Wesley L. McDonald Distinguished Statesman of Aviation Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Established in 1954 to honor outstanding Americans who,\nby their efforts over an extended period of years, have made contributions of\nsignificant value to aeronautics, and have reflected credit upon America and\nthemselves. The Distinguished Statesman of Aviation Awards are presented at\nNAA’s Fall Awards Dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nomination Deadline: August 31<\/p>\n\n\n\n Frank G. Brewer Trophy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Awarded annually to an individual, a group of\nindividuals, or an organization for significant contributions of enduring value\nto aerospace education in the United States.
