The certifications, received on June 28<sup>th<\/sup>,\nclear the way for the first completed G600 deliveries to customers as scheduled\nthis year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Getting both authorizations on the same day is\nevidence of the maturity of our G600 production processes and speaks to the\nsafety and reliability of the aircraft&#8217;s design,&#8221; said Gulfstream\npresident Mark Burns. &#8220;Even more remarkable is the fact that we achieved\nthese simultaneous certifications less than a year after completing another\nmajor program, certifying and delivering the Gulfstream G500, another testament\nto the engineering expertise and manufacturing excellence that are hallmarks of\nGulfstream. The hard work by our team, including nearly 100,000 hours of flying\nin our labs and more than 3,200 hours of flying in the air, shows our\ndedication to safety and our customers.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;These rigorous and thorough certification processes\nensure we deliver a first-rate aircraft that exceeds expectations. We can&#8217;t\nwait to put the newest member of our aircraft family \u2013 one that spectacularly\ncombines performance, efficiency, technology and comfort that are second to\nnone \u2013 into the hands of our worldwide customers.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FAA grants type certification after an aircraft&#8217;s design\nproves compliance with aviation regulations. The FAA issues a production\ncertificate once an aircraft manufacturer demonstrates its manufacturing\nfacilities and quality management system meet the agency&#8217;s stringent safety and\nreliability requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award-winning G600 is the third Gulfstream aircraft\nmodel to get its type and production certificates simultaneously. The first was\nthe Gulfstream G550 on Aug. 14, 2003. The clean-sheet Gulfstream G500\nduplicated the feat July 20, 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The G600 flies 6,500 nautical miles \/ 12,038 kilometers at\nits long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85. At its high-speed cruise of Mach\n0.90, the G600 travels 5,500 nm\/10,186 km. The aircraft has already earned 11 city-pair\nspeed records, all at Mach 0.90. Its maximum operating speed is Mach 0.925.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The G600 features the award-winning Symmetry Flight Deck,\nwhich includes active control sidesticks and 10 touchscreens, both industry\nfirsts.
