His significant\ncommunication talents and extensive knowledge of the business aviation industry\nhave made him a highly credible and knowledgeable advocate for aviation at\nstate legislatures, regulatory agencies, airport organizations and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBob\u2019s networking skills have been highly effective in\nbringing a variety of interests together and in facilitating successful\nprograms and partnerships,\u201d said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. \u201cHis strong\noperational background and understanding of airspace and airport issues have\ngreatly benefited business aviation operators in the Central region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bolen noted that Quinn\u2019s input for airspace redesign efforts\n\u2013 including RNAV arrivals and departures \u2013 in the St. Louis, Chicago and\nDetroit metropolitan areas was instrumental to their successful implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBob has ably represented a large region of the country, and\nhis knowledge and advocacy for business aviation will be missed,\u201d said Steve\nHadley, NBAA regional programs senior director and Southwest regional\nrepresentative. \u201cWe wish him all the best in this new chapter of his life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quinn is a past president and 30-year member of the Greater\nSt. Louis Business Aviation Association (GSLBAA), considered to be the\nsecond-oldest regional business aviation group in the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After graduating from Purdue University with a bachelor\u2019s\ndegree in mechanical engineering and a master\u2019s degree in industrial\nadministration, Quinn began his aviation career as a design engineer with\nMcDonnell Douglas, later working for the Trane Company and Emerson Electric in\nengineering and marketing positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over his more than 50-year aviation career, he has\naccumulated almost 17,000 hours with eight type ratings on his ATP, plus an\nA&amp;P and Inspection Authorization, and has 25 years of experience as a\nbusiness aircraft pilot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to joining NBAA, Quinn was a Gulfstream captain with\nTAG Aviation, and has flown an array of Gulfstreams from the G-2 thru the\nG-550, operating them in every continent except Antarctica.
