The AGM saw members\nvote for six individuals that were elected to the board of directors live at\nthe AGM. From the five, the new Chairman, Mr. Wu Zhendong was appointed as the\nnew Chairman, assuming the role previously held by Jenny Lau, who stepped down\nahead of the AsBAA AGM 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/AsBAA-Boardedit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13125\" width=\"295\" height=\"172\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AsBAA-Boardedit.jpg 800w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AsBAA-Boardedit-300x176.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 295px) 100vw, 295px\" \/><figcaption><em>From left are, Lou-Ann Seet, Phil Balmer, Rocky Zhang, Wu Zhendong, Max Motschmann and Paul Desgrosseilliers. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Five Vice-Chairs were also elected at the full to\ncapacity event in Singapore\u2019s Hyatt Hotel. These are, existing Vice-Chairman\nand Head of the Hong Kong Chapter, Phil Balmer, Rocky Zhang, who leads the\nassociation\u2019s mainland China Chapter and has been a member of the Board of\nGovernors since 2017, Max Motschmann, also a member of the Board of Governors\nand a key member of AsBAA\u2019s Philippine Chapter, Lou-Ann Seet of Collins\nAerospace and Paul Desgrosseilliers of Execujet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Wu said, \u201cThis is an important time for AsBAA. We\nwill work closely with the out-going Board of Directors to ensure a smooth\ntransition while working to bring positive change and innovation to AsBAA. We\nhope to enhance the association to become a sharing platform through which\nmembers can contribute and share resources. As a board, we will focus on the\nvalue that AsBAA can bring to our members. We will also work closely with\nregional governments and authorities to support the growth of industry and make\nour voice heard within regulatory agencies. Finally, we will continue our\nprogramme of events and initiatives including AsBAA\u2019s Icons of Aviation, AsBAA\nSafety Days and our work with IBAC, cope with climate change, support of\nbiofuel, sustainable business practice and environment friendly\noperations.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jenny Lau, outgoing chairperson, stated \u201cWe welcome the\nnew Board of Directors and we will support them during the transitional phase\nfor the association.
