Jay Inslee signed a proclamation\nnaming June 2019 as General Aviation Appreciation Month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proclamation recognizes general aviation\u2019s importance to\nthe state of Washington, and says that aviation plays a critical role in the\nlives of Washingtonians, as well as the operation of businesses, industry,\nranches and farms \u2013 all vital to the state\u2019s economy, and transportation\nsystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>June signifies the start of summer with typically great\nflying weather. WSDOT Aviation encourages pilots to get out and experience all\nthat the state\u2019s airports have to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Washington is home to a diverse aviation system, with 134\npublic-use airports ranging in size and purpose.
