{"id":12992,"date":"2019-06-04T14:35:40","date_gmt":"2019-06-04T14:35:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=12992"},"modified":"2019-06-04T14:35:42","modified_gmt":"2019-06-04T14:35:42","slug":"eaa-names-connolly-as-director-of-museum-and-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/wisconsin\/eaa-names-connolly-as-director-of-museum-and-education\/%20","title":{"rendered":"EAA Names Connolly as Director of Museum and Education"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ron Connolly, a U.S. Army veteran pilot who has an extensive\nhistory in education and leadership, has joined the Experimental Aircraft\nAssociation (EAA) as Director of Museum and Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his position, Connolly will lead the exploration and\nimplementation of updates to the museum in the areas of technology, education,\nand diversity. That includes a goal to further showcase the accomplishments of\ngroups not commonly represented in the aviation community but have made\nsignificant contributions to the legacy of personal flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe EAA Aviation Museum carries the vibrant energy of\nAirVenture throughout the year, so there is much to be excited about,\u201d Connolly\nsaid. \u201cIn the months and years to come, the museum is looking to utilize new\ntechnology like augmented reality to bring new and already existing facets of\nthe museum to life!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Connolly is a familiar face at EAA, as he has served as an\nEAA Aviation Museum docent and tour guide since 2014, and has served as a\npart-time member of EAA\u2019s security team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to joining the EAA staff, Connolly spent time with\nboth the Milwaukee and Appleton Police Departments as a Patrol Officer and then\nas a Senior Sergeant. Since 2016 he has spent time as an Associate Professor at\nMarian University. Prior to that he was a technical college instructor at\ninstitutions like Fox Valley Technical College, North Central Technical College\nand Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Connolly earned a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Criminal Justice from\nMount Senario College.
