The Honorable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, has announced\na Government of Canada investment of $719,205 for two safety improvement\nprojects at the Prince Albert (Glass Field) Airport; An investment of $214,008 for\nthe purchase of a grader at the Northwest Regional Airport in Terrace, British\nColumbia, and an investment of $356,680 for the purchase of a grader at the\nNorthern Rockies Regional Airport in Fort Nelson, British Columbia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, the purchase includes a\ngrader and the rehabilitation of airside edge lighting, signage and the\nairfield lighting control system. The grader, valued at $353,440 will assist\nwith the essential clearing of ice and snow from runways, taxiways and the\napron. The rehabilitation project, valued at $365,765, includes replacing\nairside lighting with LED lights for clearer visibility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Well maintained runways, taxiways and aprons that are clear\nof ice and snow are key to ensuring safe usage by aircraft, passengers, and\ncrews, and help protect costly airport safety assets, such as snow clearing\nequipment and aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicles, during airport\noperations. This equipment will assist with the essential clearing of ice and\nsnow from runways, taxiways and the apron. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
