The total value is over $18,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"484\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019-Martha-King-Scholarship-for-Women-Flight-Instructorsedit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12784\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019-Martha-King-Scholarship-for-Women-Flight-Instructorsedit.jpg 700w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019-Martha-King-Scholarship-for-Women-Flight-Instructorsedit-300x207.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption>Melissa Martin, center, with Martha and John King at the 2019 WAI Conference.  <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Missy graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy and has been\nfocused on aviation since high school.&nbsp;\nShe stated \u201cI fell in love with flying from flying around the mountains\nas a teenager, and I was curious enough about aviation to ask for a job at the\nairport. As I progressed through my ratings and a master\u2019s degree, I discovered\nthat I was also passionate about education and teaching. Along the way, I was\nafforded opportunities that I never imagined, and discovered things about\nmyself that I never thought possible. Fellow\neducators and aviators supported me along the way. They truly believed in me\nwhen I didn\u2019t believe in myself. As a flight instructor, I want nothing more\nthan to pass along to tomorrow\u2019s aviators the same knowledge and enthusiasm\nthat I\u2019ve been graciously given. The Martha King Scholarship for Female Flight\nInstructors will allow me to do just that,\u201d Missy continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Missy was an Air Force Missileer, Air Force Reserve\nNavigator and is a currently a C-130 pilot for the Montana Air National Guard.\nShe loves flying the back country of Montana in her Husky. Very recently she\nwas diagnosed with breast cancer and has been undergoing treatments while\nflying under BasicMed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Martha King, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of King Schools,\nsaid \u201cMissy is tough and inspirational, fighting a battle with cancer while\ncontinuing the process of working on her CFI. Her plans include supporting aviation\nin her home state of Montana. We are deeply proud of her and look forward to\nfollowing her aviation journeys for many years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI love making the phone calls to our scholarship winners.\nLetting them know that we are going to help make their dreams come true is just\nplain awesome!\u201d Martha concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Martha R.
