{"id":12617,"date":"2019-04-19T21:53:58","date_gmt":"2019-04-19T21:53:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=12617"},"modified":"2019-04-19T21:53:59","modified_gmt":"2019-04-19T21:53:59","slug":"inaugural-asbaa-china-safety-day-held-in-beijing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/international-news\/inaugural-asbaa-china-safety-day-held-in-beijing\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Inaugural AsBAA China Safety Day Held in Beijing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>AsBAA, the Asian region&#8217;s non-profit organization for\nbusiness and general aviation hosted the inaugural AsBAA China Safety Day on April\n12<sup>th<\/sup> in Beijing. The event, which was held at Sino Jet\u2019s Beijing\nheadquarters, was well attended by government, aviation stakeholders and\nmembers of the media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jenny Lau, Chairperson of AsBAA, said in her opening speech\n&#8220;We have a responsibility to ensure that we help to promote a culture of\nsafety best practice in Asia. Safety is the foundation of this sector and will\nbe vital in ensuring its long-term growth and sustainability.\u201d Speakers from\nthe General Aviation, Transportation Department, CAAC and the Office of\nRestructuring, Department of Policy, and Law and Regulation introduced policy\nupdates to promote the development of general aviation in China, and also the\nrevisions of China\u2019s general aviation to continue development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent years, business aircraft and VIP helicopters as a\nmeans of transport for travel have grown to be more accessible. A rapid\nresponse for air emergency rescue has transformed the public view of general\naviation in mainland China. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019, provisions on the administration of general\naviation business license will be comprehensively revised and listed as the\nlegislative focus of the Ministry of Transport. Basic ideas include classified\nmanagement, transformation of government functions, relaxation of market\naccess, and effective reduction of institutional transaction costs of market\nplayers. In order to lower barriers to market entry and simplify approval\nprocedures, CAAC will actively revise CCAR-285, CCAR-290 regulations and those\naffecting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Lv Renli, Director of the General Aviation Department,\nCivil Aviation Management Institute of China stressed that safety remains a key\nfactor in the sustainable development of China&#8217;s business aviation industry.\nChina strictly regulates business aviation and will continue to do so as the\nindustry evolves and develops to promote safety. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Wu Bing, general manager of Sino Jet Beijing, introduced\nhow Sino Jet builds a team awareness of safety culture. The company&#8217;s safety\nmanagement system (SMS) guides Sino Jet Beijing\u2019s system, including safety\npolicy, risk management, safety assurance and safety training.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2018, Sino Jet was the first operator in mainland China\nto achieve IS-BAO Level III, the highest level of the international recognized\nsafety standard from the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC).&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rocky Zhang, member of the Board of Governors at AsBAA,\nChair of its mainland China Chapter and Vice President of Government Affairs at\nTextron Aviation, moderated a safety panel discussion. He said, \u201cSafety is\nstill the first priority. Without safety as the premise, all development is\nmeaningless\u201d. Robert Xiao, Vice President of China AOPA stated as closing\nremarks during the panel that: \u201cSafety is about developing and protecting our\nindustry. It is very important to realize the reform of safety and change the\nimplementation method. Meanwhile, build space for continued development,\nleverage media and networks to form a strong voice to create that change.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Lv Renli said, \u201cIndustry stakeholders including CAAC,\nAsBAA and enterprises should provide products, training and narratives that\nprioritize aviation safety. In China, we can also learn from international\nsafety models\u201d.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AsBAA launched its Safety Day Series in Singapore in 2017.\nIt now holds safety days in mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore and the\nPhilippines to promote a culture of safety best practice in business and\ngeneral aviation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The inaugural AsBAA China Safety Day was sponsored by\nBombardier, World Fuel Services (WFS), China Aviation Rescue and Emergency and\nSino Jet. The Business Aviation Committee of the China Civil Airport\nAssociation (CCAA), General Aviation Division of China Air Transport\nAssociation (CATA), China AOPA and international organizations such EASA-APP,\nFAA-ACP and Qu\u00e9bec Economic Office in Beijing were also in attendance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next AsBAA Safety Day will take place in Singapore on 11\nJune 2019 as part of Singapore Business Aviation Week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AsBAA, the Asian region&#8217;s non-profit organization for business and general aviation hosted the inaugural AsBAA China Safety Day on April 12th in Beijing.
