At\nPhoenix Sky Harbor, these kits have been placed inside Automatic External\nDefibrillator (AED) boxes with the \u201cStop the Bleed\u201d logo. Airport Police\nOfficers are also carry the kits with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201cStop the Bleed\u201d kits are equipped with heavy duty\nbleeding suppression medical supplies such as tourniquets, QuikClot gauze,\ngloves, two chest seals and instructions on how to use the supplies. These kits\nare critical when a serious injury occurs and a person is experiencing heavy\nblood loss. With the supplies available in these kits, it allows bystanders to\nstep in and help stop the bleeding before trained medical professionals arrive\non the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airports across the country have joined in on the national\neffort and have installed \u201cStop the Bleed\u201d kits in case of emergencies. These\nairports include Tucson International Airport, Los Angeles International\nAirport, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Boston Logan International\nAirport, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Seattle-Tacoma International\nAirport, and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Stop-the-Bleed-Sign_small.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12476\" width=\"146\" height=\"219\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Stop-the-Bleed-Sign_small.jpg 600w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Stop-the-Bleed-Sign_small-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 146px) 100vw, 146px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cStop the Bleed\u201d is a\nnational campaign that aims to bring awareness and educate the public on how to\nstop major bleeding as well as provide access to bleeding suppression kits in\npublic areas. In addition to training bystanders to be the first responders,\nthe campaign aims to engage the public to act and have an active role in the\nresponse of emergencies of all sizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with the \u201cStop the Bleed\u201d kits, Phoenix Sky Harbor\nalready has AEDs installed throughout the airport.
