The 67th annual Experimental Aircraft Association fly-in\nconvention will be held July 22-28 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh,\nWisconsin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9289edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12400\" width=\"372\" height=\"247\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9289edit.jpg 700w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9289edit-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 372px) 100vw, 372px\" \/><figcaption><em>F4U Corsair. Photo by Kim Stevens<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>EAA\u2019s activities are being planned in conjunction with the\nU.S. Air Force Air Combat Command, the EAA Warbirds of America, and individual\naircraft owners. The activities will take place throughout the week, with some\nspecial programs designated for particular days during AirVenture\u2019s seven-day\nrun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the events involving past and present military\naircraft are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Aircraft\nfrom the USAF Air Combat Command, ranging from fighters such as the F-15, F-16,\nF-22, and F-35, as well as the A-10 attack aircraft;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The first\nOshkosh appearance of the unique XP-82 Twin Mustang, which has been under\nrestoration in Georgia;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A salute to\nWorld War II ace Bud Anderson, with every flying P-51 in the U.S. invited to\nOshkosh to participate;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A gathering\nof U.S. Navy fighter aircraft, including F4U Corsairs, the unique gullwing\nfighters that were a key asset in the Pacific Theater;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Observance\nof the 75th anniversary of D-Day, with aircraft that participated in the actual\ninvasion on June 6, 1944, as well as C-47 airplanes that will have just\nreturned from a historic anniversary flight to France;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;U.S. Air Force Heritage Flights and U.S.\nNavy Legacy Flights involving historic and modern aircraft in formation,\nhighlighting the legacy and evolution of military aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOshkosh is known for being a collection of aircraft and\npeople that is unmatched anywhere in the world, and that will again be the case\nin 2019,\u201d said Rick Larsen, EAA\u2019s vice president of communities and member\nprograms, who coordinates AirVenture features and attractions. \u201cWe are grateful\nto the U.S. Air Force and the Air Combat Command for their assistance and to\nthe EAA Warbirds of America to make possible these kinds of activities, for\nwhich AirVenture is known and eagerly anticipated each year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More details, such as arrival and flight days for specific\naircraft, as well as forums and evening programs, will be announced as they are\nfinalized.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A roster of the most legendary American military aircraft in history, from iconic World War II airplanes to today\u2019s most sophisticated flying machines, will be flying and on display this summer at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019.
