{"id":12396,"date":"2019-03-30T19:23:04","date_gmt":"2019-03-30T19:23:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=12396"},"modified":"2019-03-30T19:23:05","modified_gmt":"2019-03-30T19:23:05","slug":"nbaa-announces-executive-promotions-new-association-division","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/national-news\/nbaa-announces-executive-promotions-new-association-division\/%20","title":{"rendered":"NBAA Announces Executive Promotions, New Association Division"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has announced\nthe recent promotions of three long-time NBAA team members, as well as the\nformation of a new Strategy &amp; Innovation Division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mike Nichols, CAM, CAE, will lead the new division as senior\nvice president, strategy and innovation; Joanne \u201cJo\u201d Damato, CAM, has been\nnamed vice president, educational strategy and workforce development; and Dina\nGreen, CMP, has been promoted to vice president, events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to recognize the outstanding contributions\nand forward-looking vision of three of our most dedicated veterans,\u201d said NBAA\nPresident and CEO Ed Bolen. \u201cAdditionally, the formation of a new division,\nfocused on providing NBAA with innovative strategies and fostering a culture of\nentrepreneurship within the association, will further enhance the\norganization\u2019s service to its members.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to heading up the new division, Nichols\u2019s\nresponsibilities include overseeing NBAA\u2019s professional development\ninitiatives, including the association\u2019s many educational offerings, as well as\ndefining the vision and strategy for enhancing NBAA\u2019s conferences and seminars\nthrough an increase in attendees, exhibitors, sponsors and engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nichols joined the association in June 2003 as manager, tax\nand finance issues. Subsequent positions included director, tax, economics and\noperational services; vice president, operations, education and economics; and\nvice president, operational excellence and professional development. An active\ninstrument-rated private pilot for land and seaplanes, Nichols owns a Grumman\nTiger aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Damato\u2019s new responsibilities include leading the team for\nall of NBAA\u2019s professional development activities, such as the Certified\nAviation Manager (CAM) program, Professional Development Program (PDP) Review\nCommittee, on-demand education, the NBAA Young Professionals (YoPro) Council\nand other committee initiatives, as well as overseeing the association\u2019s\nscholarship program. In addition, Damato will be at the forefront of the\nassociation\u2019s efforts to address the industry\u2019s workforce challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Damato previously served as recently senior director,\neducational development and strategy, and has also served as the association\u2019s\ndirector of operations and educational development. Damato joined NBAA in 2001\nto manage the association\u2019s Air Traffic Services function at the FAA ATC System\nCommand Center until 2007, when she moved on to professional development roles\nwithin NBAA. A current Certified Flight Instructor, Damato holds a single and\nmulti-engine land instrument rating, commercial pilot certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Green\u2019s new responsibilities include event planning and\nbudget oversight related to the association\u2019s three large annual trade shows,\nas well as NBAA\u2019s Regional Forums. She also leads the association\u2019s team\nresponsible for registration and sponsorships.
