{"id":12159,"date":"2019-03-04T22:21:57","date_gmt":"2019-03-04T22:21:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=12159"},"modified":"2019-03-04T22:21:59","modified_gmt":"2019-03-04T22:21:59","slug":"bob-hoover-legacy-foundation-announces-leadership-upgrades","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/florida\/bob-hoover-legacy-foundation-announces-leadership-upgrades\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation Announces Leadership Upgrades"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation (BHLF), under the guidance\nof President Tracy Forrest and Chairman Michael Herman; has appointed Jim\nCampbell as Executive Director to handle the growing requirements of the\nFoundation, its enhanced mission, and its responsibility to follow the\ndirections given it by the late Robert A. \u2018Bob\u2019 Hoover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BHLF President, Tracy Forrest, explained that, \u201cBob may be\ngone, but his vision for the future has left all of us in the Bob Hoover Legacy\nFoundation a powerful gift and responsibility that we willingly undertake in\nhis memory. Celebrating his life, and all that he left us, gives the Foundation\nan incredible mission to follow&#8230; and the opportunity to serve the aviation\nworld he cared for, so very much.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Foundation has evaluated the mission handed down by Bob\nprior to his passing in 2016, and is in the process of adding to the many\nactivities already undertaken, and building a program worthy of Bob\u2019s memory,\nambitions and legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BHLF Chairman Michael Herman, notes, \u201cBuilding a powerful,\nself-sustaining future for aviation was a favorite topic of Bob&#8217;s. He left us\nwith some great ideas and a powerful mandate&#8230; and it has become our\nresponsibility to communicate that vision, and Bob&#8217;s desire for the future of\naviation, to all those who are (and will someday be) a part of the aviation\nworld.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In concert with Board members, George Gould, Brian Cochran,\nJoan Cochran, James G. Kidrick and Rich Pickett, Campbell was selected and has\nalready started evaluating the tasks ahead so as to build enhanced programs\nunder their guidance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Campbell was a long-time friend of Bob Hoover and worked\nwith him to chronicle his 1990s difficulties with the FAA over his airshow\ndisplay work in his book, \u201cAir of Injustice.\u201d Jim is also the author of 19\nother books, to date, and the CEO and Editor-In-Chief of the Aero-News Network,\nthe aviation world\u2019s first online 24\/7\/365, real-time aviation\/aerospace news\nservice and the Executive Producer of \u2018Airborne Unlimited\u2019 \u2013 aviation\u2019s only\ndaily aviation video news program series, now in its second decade of\nproduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the work of the Foundation, his upcoming 21st\nbook, \u2018Friends of Bob\u2019 chronicles the best remembered stories of Bob\u2019s life by\nhis closest friends and associates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t tell you how humbling it is to be involved with the\nFoundation in carrying out the work Bob directed prior to his leaving us\u201c\u2026 He\ninspired me like no other flyer, and had an immense effect on my work in\naviation.
