The project is being done at no cost to the FAA.\nThe B4UFLY App will continue to be available to the public until the new App is\ndeployed. The data will continue to be updated but no new features will be\nadded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cWe want to provide\ndrone pilots with the best tools possible so they fly safely and responsibly,\u201d\nsaid Acting FAA Administrator Dan Elwell. \u201cAs drone sales increase and our\nnation\u2019s airspace becomes busier and more complex, it\u2019s vital that we work\nsmarter and partner with the private sector to develop innovative products that\nadvance safety.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FAA and Kittyhawk&#8217;s February 13, 2019 agreement will\nprovide the public with a simple, easy-to-understand mobile application that\nprovides situational awareness for recreational drone pilots. The FAA and\nKittyhawk plan to launch the new app later this year.
