{"id":11694,"date":"2019-01-22T03:40:46","date_gmt":"2019-01-22T03:40:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=11694"},"modified":"2019-01-22T03:40:47","modified_gmt":"2019-01-22T03:40:47","slug":"aeroshell-fueling-mission-to-return-c-47s-to-normandy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/uncategorized\/aeroshell-fueling-mission-to-return-c-47s-to-normandy\/%20","title":{"rendered":"AeroShell Fueling Mission to Return C-47s to Normandy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>AeroShell has designated 4 distributors that will support\nthe efforts of The D-Day Squadron to bring a large group of C-47s and DC-3s\nacross the Atlantic Ocean to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day\ninvasion at Normandy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The distributors will discount AeroShell Oil 120 and W120 in\ndrums, AeroShell Oil W120 in cases of 3\u20135 Liter bottles, as well as Smoke Oil.\nWhile each distributor has a focus within a geographic region, all are highly\nskilled at drop shipping product across North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;While supporting the warbird community for years\nthrough groups such as the Commemorative Air Force, we wanted to highlight a\nnew focus on a very important event for not only the aviation and military\nhistory communities, but one that represents also one of the last, best chances\nto pay tribute to the remaining members of the WW2 generation,\u201d stated Jon\nStoy, Account Manager, General Aviation Lubricants for AeroShell. \u201cThis is why\nit makes complete sense to extend our support to the D-Day Squadron and why we\nare honored to be able to support such an important event.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By offering support, AeroShell is making a significant\ncontribution that will enable the aircraft of the D-Day Squadron to complete\nthe &#8220;Blue Spruce&#8221; route used to move aircraft to European front-line\nservice during WW2. After completing the route and landing at Duxford Airfield\nin the United Kingdom, the squadron will join its European counterpart Daks\nover Normandy. This will be the kickoff of events at Duxford from June 2nd-5th\n2019, leading to the combined aerial armada crossing the English Channel on the\n5th of June.&nbsp; Upon landing at\nCaen-Carpiquet Airport in Normandy, France, additional commemorations honoring\nthe Greatest Generation and other activities will take place from June 5th-9th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAeroShell has a long history of supporting the aviation and\nthe warbird community,\u201d explained Moreno Aguiari, Executive Director of the\nD-Day Squadron. \u201cI\u2019ve worked with one of their distributors, Blazing Aviation,\nthrough the Tunison Foundation, the core organization behind the D-Day\nSquadron. This company works to have product staged ahead at locations\nthroughout the year to ensure we have the oil we need to support our flights\nwith Placid Lassie. That makes this a great contribution for AeroShell and its\ndistributors to support the mission of the D-Day Squadron. All of the\nparticipating airplanes will be thirsty for good oil and AeroShell provides the\nbest product for our engines.
