{"id":11545,"date":"2019-01-01T15:34:49","date_gmt":"2019-01-01T15:34:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=11545"},"modified":"2019-01-01T15:36:06","modified_gmt":"2019-01-01T15:36:06","slug":"state-aviation-journal-begins-10th-year-publishing-skybrief-online-magazine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/national-news\/state-aviation-journal-begins-10th-year-publishing-skybrief-online-magazine\/%20","title":{"rendered":"State Aviation Journal Begins 10th Year Publishing Skybrief, Online Magazine"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_11175\" class=\"thumbnail wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 215px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-11175\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Kim-Dec-2017-205x300.jpg\" alt=\"Kim J Stevens, SAJ Publisher\" width=\"205\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Kim-Dec-2017-205x300.jpg 205w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Kim-Dec-2017.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 205px) 100vw, 205px\" \/><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\">Kim J Stevens, SAJ Publisher<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ten years ago, Kim Stevens created State Aviation Journal (SAJ), LLC and began publishing the weekly Skybrief and online magazines, initially devoted to promoting state aviation officials and programs throughout the country. \u201cOver the years there has been some definite scope creep,\u201d said Stevens, SAJ Publisher. \u201cWe cover many different aspects of the aviation industry, but state aviation remains at the core of who we are and what we do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The SAJ has also branched out into newsletter development and web maintenance, with several contracts in place working with other aviation organizations. \u201cWe\u2019ve been producing newsletters for others based on the successful formula we\u2019ve used for the weekly Skybrief, and see this as an untapped opportunity for company growth,\u201d said Stevens. \u201cWe\u2019ll be looking to expand in this direction in 2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stevens, who first visualized publishing an aviation magazine back in the late 1970s, began putting the concept together for SAJ in late 2008 and published the first Skybrief in January 2009. \u201cWe didn\u2019t think about it at the time, but we were trailblazers with the launch of Skybrief,\u201d said Stevens.
