Collier Trophy has ended and the selection committee, made up of industry stalwarts and past Collier recipients, has been assembled. The selection will be made on March 11, 2013 from the following nominees:<\/span><\/p>\n<div>The Lockheed Martin Cargo Unmanned Aerial System<\/div>\n<div>The NASA\/JPL Dawn Project Team<\/div>\n<div>The Gulfstream G650<\/div>\n<div>The United States Air Force MC-12 Project Liberty Team<\/div>\n<div>The NASA\/JPL Mars Science Laboratory\/Curiosity Project Team<\/div>\n<div>The Red Bull Stratos Team Lead by Art Thompson of Sage Cheshire Aerospace&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The NASA\/JPL Voyager Interstellar Mission Project Team<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp; &nbsp; The 2012 Collier Trophy winner will be announced the day following the Selection Committee meeting at the NAA Spring Awards Ceremony and Luncheon on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott.<\/div>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp; &nbsp;The NAA Spring Awards Ceremony and Luncheon will also recognize the Most Memorable Aviation Records of 2012.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp; &nbsp; The Collier Trophy has been awarded annually since 1911 &quot;for the greatest achievement in aeronautics or astronautics in America, with respect to improving the performance, efficiency, and safety of air or space vehicles, the value of which has been thoroughly demonstrated by actual use during the preceding year.&quot; &nbsp;The 2012 Collier Trophy will be presented at the annual Collier Dinner on May 9, 2013.<\/div>\n<div class=\"field_attachment\">\n<div><b>Attachment:<\/b><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"\/\"><\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The nomination period for the 2012 Robert J.
