{"id":11450,"date":"2018-12-17T00:51:22","date_gmt":"2018-12-17T00:51:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=11450"},"modified":"2018-12-17T00:51:22","modified_gmt":"2018-12-17T00:51:22","slug":"designers-wanted-for-fly-washington-passport-program-patches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/washington\/designers-wanted-for-fly-washington-passport-program-patches\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Designers Wanted for Fly Washington Passport Program Patches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Fly Washington Passport Program, an incentive program encouraging pilots and aviation enthusiasts to explore Washington\u2019s public-use airports, is seeking designers and artists to create a patch representative of each of the six regions including the Olympic Peninsula, southwest, northwest, south central, north central and eastern areas of Washington state.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will use an official Fly Washington Passport Booklet to collect stamps at enrolled public-use airports. Pilots who fly into all of the participating airports within each region will receive the special patch to proudly display on their flight jacket.<\/p>\n<p>The Washington State Department of Transportation is in partnership for the program with the City of Auburn, Auburn Municipal Airport, Washington Airport Management Association, the Washington Pilots Association and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will use the official Fly Washington Passport Booklet to collect stamps at participating public-use airports.<\/p>\n<p>The program kicks off February 2019 at the Northwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show where pilots can pick up their passport and vote on the top four patch submissions for each region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Submission:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Deadline for patch design submissions is Feb. 1, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Send patch designs and questions to Marjy Leggett at director@wama.us or Chris Paolini at cpaolini@kelso.gov.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Criteria for design:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Size: 3 to 4 inches (height and width)<\/p>\n<p>Can be any shape as long as it fits the size limits<\/p>\n<p>Each patch should reflect the particular region or landmark associated with the region<\/p>\n<p>Consider that the design will be an embroidered patch<\/p>\n<p>Okay to use multiple colors<\/p>\n<p>Include the name of the region in each patch design<\/p>\n<p>Send in JPG format<\/p>\n<p>Include a brief description of patch\u2019s significance to the region<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/content.govdelivery.com\/attachments\/WADOT\/2018\/11\/30\/file_attachments\/1116328\/Fly%20Washington%20Patch%20Criteria.pdf\">Fly Washington Patch Criteria.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Fly Washington Passport Program, an incentive program encouraging pilots and aviation enthusiasts to explore Washington\u2019s public-use airports, is seeking designers and artists to create a patch representative of each of the six regions including the Olympic Peninsula, southwest, northwest, south central, north central and eastern areas of Washington state.
