Michael Huerta<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Serco Inc. announced the appointment of Michael Huerta as a Senior Consultant.\u00c2\u00a0 In this role, Mr. Huerta will provide strategic guidance to Serco’s aviation business in the U.S. and have a role in developing the aviation strategy globally.<\/p>\n

In January 2018, Mr. Huerta completed a five-year term as Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).\u00c2\u00a0 He was responsible for the safety and efficiency of the largest aerospace system in the world and oversaw a $15.9 billion budget and more than 47,000 employees.<\/p>\n

Serco is the largest private Air Navigation Services Provider (ANSP) in the world, with over 700 air traffic controllers.\u00c2\u00a0 Serco’s air traffic controllers provide services to more than 4.7 million aircraft per year.\u00c2\u00a0 Over the last 30 years, Serco has been providing a full range of aviation services, including:<\/p>\n

Mr. Huerta served more than seven years with the FAA, first as Deputy Administrator.\u00c2\u00a0 He served as Acting Administrator before being confirmed for a full term as Administrator.\u00c2\u00a0 He led the FAA longer than any other in the agency’s history. Prior to joining the FAA, he was President of the Transportation Solutions Group at Affiliated Computer Services (now Conduent), and previously held leadership positions in the U.S. Department of Transportation.\u00c2\u00a0 Mr. Huerta also served as the Executive Director of the Port of San Francisco from 1989 to 1993 and Commissioner of New York City’s Department of Ports, International Trade and Commerce from 1986 to 1989.
