Colorado Aviation Division's Senior Planner Accepts FAA Job

The Colorado Aeronautics Division and its staff wished Scott Brownlee a warm farewell following his acceptance of a position with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Brownlee began working for the Colorado Division of Aeronautics as an Aviation Planner in 1990. "Scott was an asset to the Colorado Division of Aviation and will be greatly missed," said David C. Gordon, A.A.E, Director, Colorado Department of Transportation, Division of Aeronautics. "He worked in Colorado at the Centennial and Montrose Airports and as the Division’s Planner since 2007."

Brownlee is the newest addition to the FAA’s Great Lakes Region, Bismarck Airports District Office (ADO) as a Program Manager. Brownlee will be responsible for the airport planning of North and South Dakota and oversee’s federal airport projects for western South Dakota.

Gordon said Brownlee’s knowledge of Colorado’s System of Airports and working relationship with the aviation community was an asset. "We wish him success in his new position with the FAA."

A longtime commercial-rated pilot, he was introduced to state aviation in 1992 as Director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics, later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division. From 2013 to 2018, he was Director of Communications and Operations for the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) in Washington, D.C.
