Safegate Reaches 2 Million Dockings Per Year in the U.S. and Canada

Safegate Airport Systems, Inc., subsidiary of the Safegate Group, announces it has reached a new milestone in North America. With Safedock Advanced Visual Docking Guidance Systems (A-VDGS) installed on more than 700 gates at airports throughout North America, the company estimates that 2 million aircraft will be safely docked this year using the automated system.

“While airports around the world have long used Safedock A-VDGS for safe and efficient docking, the North American market is even more attracted to the integration and information benefits when used with our SafeControl – Apron Management solution,” said Thomas Duffy, President of Safegate Airport Systems. “Through integration and information sharing on the ramp, airports benefit from improved safety at the gate, maximum gate availability, improved performance and better revenue control.”

A longtime commercial-rated pilot, he was introduced to state aviation in 1992 as Director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics, later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division.
