Commission Selects New Officers for FY 2011, Stucky Named Chairman

OKLAHOMA CITY – Wes Stucky of Ardmore was recently selected chairman of the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission for the current fiscal year, which ends June 30, 2011.

Stucky (pictured at right) will lead the seven-member board that is responsible for encouraging, fostering and assisting in the development of aviation in Oklahoma. This includes the preservation and improvement of the Oklahoma Airport System and promotion of the state’s top employer—the aerospace industry.

Other newly elected officers are Rick Armstrong of Tulsa, vice chairman, and Dr. David Conway of Durant, secretary.

The remaining members of the Aeronautics Commission include Kenneth Adams of Bartlesville, who served as chairman this past year; Dave Amis III and Tom Stephenson, both of Oklahoma City; and Joe Harris of  Blackwell. 

FAA Announces $9.2 million in Recovery Act Projects for Atlanta

FAA'S VICKI COX TO ADDRESS NASAO CONVENTION

Vicki Cox, FAA Senior Vice President of NextGen, is confirmed to speak Monday, September 13 during the 2010 NASAO Annual Convention and Tradeshow in Wichita, Kansas. In her role as Senior Vice President of NextGen, she is responsible for the effort to transform the nation's airspace system by using 21st century technologies to meet changing aviation demands.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Choose Vaisala Road Weather Information Systems and Weather Data

Vaisala has signed a USD 5 million agreement with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS) equipment, lightning detection, weather forecasting, software and data services, and 10-year maintenance services. The agreement covers turnkey deliveries to all five airports operated by the Port Authority - John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, Newark, Teterboro and Stewart International. Deliveries will start immediately.
