WSDOT seeks new director of aviation

The Washington State Department of Transportation has an opportunity for a uniquely qualified, executive-level professional who will serve as the agency’s director of aviation.

WSDOT’s director of aviation is responsible for developing and implementing statewide programs that protect and promote aviation; airport improvements and investments; and the state’s aviation system in partnership with federal and local agencies, airport sponsors and owners, pilots, airport users, aviation stakeholders, businesses and the public. The director fosters the development of aeronautics to support the state’s transportation system and economic vitality.

This is a dynamic position that manages and oversees WSDOT’s crucial aviation programs:

Airport investments (grants & capital improvements)

Aviation system and airport land-use planning

Aircraft registration

WSDOT-managed airports

Aviation emergency management
