Georgia Seeks Aviation Project Manager

On behalf of our client, we are seeking applications for an Aviation Project Manager (APM). Under minimum supervision, our client is seeking a self-starting experienced project manager who is customer oriented and driven to complete projects within budget, on time and with high standards implemented. The APM is responsible for the direction, coordination, and management of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and State aviation planning and capital projects within an assigned area of the state of Georgia. The APM will assist in the implementation and maintenance of the state’s airport Capital Improvement Program and will provide administrative support during project execution, including construction plans and specification reviews, correspondence, contracts, reports, and procedures. Attendance may be required at certain project meetings. Inspections of airport construction sites to verify compliance with federal and state aviation regulations and construction safety will be required. The APM will develop relationships with airport sponsors, consultants, state and federal agencies. In addition, further responsibilities include compliance with objectives contained within a Statewide Aviation System Plan, the federal grant block program and airport improvement program, individual Airport Master Plans, environmental laws, federal land acquisition, grant assurance requirements, state licensing, and airspace matters.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in an engineering field or five years of experience as consultant for aviation development or three years of airport or aviation experience and one year of experience in aviation development.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering AND five (5) years of experience in aviation capital project development.

Position Requirements:
This is a full time position of 40 hours per week and requires office hours in downtown Atlanta, GA. The position further requires approximately 20% travel with some overnight stays. Successful candidates will be required to submit to and pass a drug test and criminal background check.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary range is $52,000 to $72,000 annually based on qualifications and experience. A full range of competitive benefits is offered.
