Brazil’s civil aviation regulator ANAC (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil) has issued an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to Modern Logistics, a rising Brazilian supply-chain solution company, following a comprehensive audit. The AOC was received on April 4, 2017.
Modern Logistics offers third-party logistics solutions via an integrated logistics platform with multimodal transport and distribution centers strategically-located across the country. With the AOC, Modern Logistics now adds a third, and most strategic, asset to its operation: the right to operate a fleet of cargo aircraft in Brazil and the region.
“The AOC attests to our technical ability to operate in Brazil and the region. The timing is certainly opportune given the economic recovery of the country,” said Gerald Blake Lee, Modern Logitsics’ Chief Executive Officer. “ANAC’s approval represents more than two years of dedication from our team. And we sincerely thank the technicians of ANAC and the other government agencies that supported us in the certification process.”
Modern Logistics is optimizing the Brazilian logistics network by creating more efficient supply-chain solutions. The company seeks to ‘fill the infrastructure gap,’ flying its freighter aircraft where service and infrastructure are lacking, and complement its network capabilities with strategic partners.
“Modern Logistics’ integrated logistics platform serves as infrastructure for our clients. With the AOC in hand, we plan to add at least two Boeing 737 freighter aircraft by the end of the year,” said Marlon Ramirez, CFO. “With a fleet of three aircraft, we will be able to meet initial client demand in the North, Southeast, Northeast, and Central-West regions of the country, in accordance to the needs of our clients.”
